Curtain Raiser - Freedom Ride:

The Freedom Ride commenced from Kolkata on the 30th July on the occasion of World Day against Trafficking in Person with a curtain raiser event at Ranuchaya Mancha joined by 80 students from St. Xavier’s College and Riders from Riders & Wanderers Riding Club.

The Event showcased a Skit on Trafficking conducted by the staff of Purnata and a powerful song and dance presentation by the DC Crew Group. The Keynote speaker was Indrani Chakraborty, Child Right specialist and GFC Consultant. The Theme for the Freedom ride was “Conquering Ladakh 2022” where 14 Bikers would be riding through the difficult terrains of Ladakh to spread awareness against Human Trafficking and raise funds for establishing “Mukhtir Aalo” translated as “Light of Freedom” centre at Sonagachi – Asia’s largest Redlight district. Our Staff Sony was part of the freedom ride team representing Purnata.


SALT Visits:

The source area team have been doing active SALT visits in the communities with individuals to know more communities and encourage the communities to work for themselves for their own communities. One the SALT visits were done with few young girls to encourage them and motivate them for their own development. The team has done SALT with 4 women groups. SALT visits with individuals were done with around 20 of them from the communities.


Legal Awareness Camp:

Kolkata team organised a Legal Aid Program on 7th september 2022 at Merudandi Office and the program begins with Staff"s introduction after that mainly 3 topics were

discussed by staff, about Purnata and purnata's vision, Purnata's Mission and Legal aspects for women. 8 women from the community participated in this program. It ended with Q&A, and all had many questions related to their issues in their lives.


Freedom Ride:

The Ride started from New Delhi on the 28th August after the Bikes was cleared from the Railway Parcel Office after being shipped to w Delhi from Kolkata.The Freedom Ride was flagged off in Delhi by Lt. General Rajeev Sabharwal, Director General of Signals at the Gate No. 3 of the Central Park at Connaught Place. The flagging off was coordinated by the PUSH Network in Delhi. The Team covered places like Turtuk, Siachen Base camp among others. Then we started descending from Ladakh towards Delhi. We reached Srinagar and stayed for a day to get our bikes serviced and then onwards to Amritsar to return to Delhi. We were able to share about Trafficking and what Purnata does to end trafficking with almost 300+ people.


Children's Day:

The children from the communities who are from the poorest of poor families were invited for a program. Date - 14.11.2022. It was organised in a village called Akharpur mini daspara. 44 Children participated in the program. They played some games and won some prizes for that.


Annual Celebration (Source Area):

Annual Celebration Program on 15-12-2022 from 10.00 A.M to 1.30 P.M. at Akharpur Child Center. 48 children were present there. Program begins with the staff’s introduction about Purnata. Two games were held with the children and all staff and volunteers participated after that we distributed some gifts and foods among the children.


Annual Celebration with beneficiaries:

Purnata Staff took 2 sisters, who were rescued from RLA in 2017 for an Annual outing. THey had fun taking rides in Science city, watching a movie in 3D theatre and having some Kolkata fast foods for lunch. They were also given some gifts. Both the sisters had fun.
